The University of Deusto, run by the Company of Jesus, began its activity in 1886, thus becoming the first higher education institution in the Basque Country. With over 120 years' experience, Deusto has become part of the symbols and emblems of the two cities where the University has its campuses:Bilbao and San Sebastian.
In the field of Business Administration and Management, Deusto has been a pioneer in training business leaders at its two faculties:
La Comercial faculty, at the Bilbao campus since 1916, and ESTE faculty, at the San Sebastian campus, created in 1956.
Through their many years' experience, both faculties are characterised by the marked practical approach of their courses, since they are closely related to the corporate world and firmly committed to internationalisation. Therefore, they have a strong presence in international networks, student and lecturer exchanges, and joint programmes with European and American universities.
They combine state-of-the-art teaching methods with modern technological infrastructures and the constant innovation of their syllabuses, - the Managerial development and Coaching programme at La Comercial faculty and the joint degree in Business Administration and Management (LADE) and Technical Engineering in Management Computer Systems as the most recent examples. Without any doubt, these are the sign of identity of these two faculties at Deusto.
